OK I've tried it, and I must say.. wow..ish. Mostly wow!

The tally:

1/ Overall it is MUCH faster than morphgear. This image is fullscreen ('auto scale') AND image smoothed and runs faster than unsmoothed 100% in morphgear. Im impressed. I suppose it isnt as impressive if you consider the 2700g is doing the smoothing and scaling but even if you take that into account it is still much faster than morphgear.
2/ Auto frameskip management sucks! If you try that it plays well.. how should I describe it.. like trying to play back a divx onto your monitor. When lots of things are moving you notice some stuttering.

but! I've found the near-perfect settings! You see, pocketsnes and morphgear are doing something unnatural! They are trying to render 50 frames per second and that is twice as much as the snes ever rendered. What you want is 25fps (or 30 with NTSC games). You see this is the whole difference between interlaced and non-interlaced. The axim is non-interlaced, which is 'equal' (better, even) to 50fps interlaced which is 'TV'. If you want this, set frameskip to 1 ('skip 1 frame every 2 frames') and you're good to go.

3/ It forgets the sound options. You need to turn on 'sync audio' to hear audio every time. Not the end of the world but hey.

Long story short:
Turn OFF Auto Frameskip
Set Frame Skip to 1
Turn on Sync audio (it doesnt work without it)

And it's smooth as silk! (At least super mario world 1 and chrono trigger are)
ah! :approve:
