I tried it and the method didn't work.
What I am doing is that after the sync is completed, I disable the connection on my XP by doing "Start->Settings->Network Connections->
connection for the Axim". After I do that, my x51v stays off. Then, I created a shortcut on my Launch Bar for this connection. When I want to sync, I simply click on this shortcut and it will enable the connection again(you need to have the Axim in the cradle and turned on). Let me know if my instruction makes sense.
I know it is annoying to do all these things. But, this is one of the easiest work around(the fake server is easier, however, it doesn't work for me).
