deadheadfred: yes, it is entirely conceivable the source video was slightly out-of-sync to begin with, though simply watching it very carefully would give you a clue about this.
mmw: correct, the Pocket PC platform does not handle 48KHz audio, hence the instruction in the guides to convert the audio. 44.1KHz is fine, though a bit overkill for a PDA.
