Hmmz, i wouldn't spend a dime on XCPUSCALAR if i where you. I've heard at various sites that it only 'really' overclocks when the device is connected to external power. At first i didn't belief this, but the developers then CONFIRMED this!
What a waste of money it was for me then (i bought XCPUScaler, and after that the more reliable PHM).
I'd say stick with PHM and contact the developer regarding this. His support is excellent :).
