Well I finally figured it out with no thanks to my company's Tech Support division. The cause was related to my Mapi32.dll file being updated. The solution was to go to the Help menu in Outlook and select the Detect/Repair option and run it. Once it was complete all I had to do was restart the machine and there was joy in Muddville!
