I figured out how to detect XScale CPU speed. Now the monitor utility displays the current CPU speed as well!
The left half of the bottom screen line shows, in green, the current CPU speed. The full length (half screen width) represents 624MHz, so if the green line is 2/3 of that, it's 416MHz.
The right half of the bottom line is the CPU load. If the CPU is not XScale CPU, the speed is not displayed and the full length is still CPU load.
In addition, I created a WM5 cab file, which makes sure the monitor utility is enabled after soft-reset. This is not tested since I don't have WM5 device. Please give it a try and let me know if it works.
