I suspect that you are having a problem where the battery is running down which is where most of the so called memory errors happen. Also I would suggest that you use the databackup software that is on the x50 to create a backup of all of your stuff and then copy the file that is created over to somewhere on your PC. do this often, at least once a week if you are making a lot of changes. that way if it happens again you can just restore that file and everything will be back to the way it was on the date of the file. Do you charge your pda a lot? it won't hurt it to put it on the charger every night. You might not have all these errors if you do. Next time it happens, check the battery level as soon as you get it working and see if it was very low. Lots of fixed for that if that is what is happening to you. let us know.

edit: I would wait on the upgrade until you figure out what this problem is. It may just compound the problem making it harder to fix. my 2 cents worth....
