ALL new PPCs will run ARM, there is no support for SH3 or MIPS since PPC2002 went to ARM only.

However - XScale apps could have optimized instructions for the XScale processor, which would make them more efficient then a more generic ARM compilation. Hence the reason why XScale is choice 1 and ARM is choice 2.
