I have just discovered that the FIND utility does seem to find Excel files in main memory, but not picture files in main memory.
Nothing is found on the SD card, though.
I don't have WM5, only WM2003SE. Does that make a difference?

You can only search for data types that are included in the dropdown. Additionally, only the
My Documents folder and its subfolders are searched. The Find utility is woefully lacking and you should consider using an 3rd party file explorer that includes a search/find function.
