Under my "Remove Programs" list, there are 3 Microsoft programs that I don't know what they do or why they are there. Can someone explain them to me?

They are:

Microsoft Activation
Microsoft .NET Compact Framework
Microsoft SQLCE 2.0

I would appreciate someone enlightening me. Thanks.

Microsoft .net compact framework is usually distributed (or downloaded separately) with a piece of installed software. To my knowledge (albiet quite limited) some developers utilize components within the .net framework that are not build into the ROM on your Axim. Therefore, they would have to have it installed for the application to function.

Microsoft SQLCE 2.0 is a database storage app for CE, much like SQL MSDE is the slimmed down version for Dekstops. An application that wishes to utilize SQL as opposed to Access or some other database platform would need to install this for the application to store its data.

If you are not utilizing any third party applications, I have no idea why those would be installed.

Microsoft activation I believe is a piece of the Microsoft Reader....

Oh and to aximsite!
