I installed the activesync upgrade this week and the problem is better - not gone - but at least every now and then (still can't predict when) I can sync everything.
The amazing thing is that a non microsoft product (epocrates) syncs perfectly every time! How indifferent is microsoft (and dell as well, I guess) about its customers that it wont't bother to get 2 pieces of its own software to cooperate but a 3rd party vendor can get the software to work perfectly.
Again, thanks for the suggestion, might try it if things still suck!
