I'm not sure this is true, for all types of flash. Like every computer-related technology, flash memory should be advancing at a blistering pace. Taken that WM5 uses the built-in flash ROM extensively, one might assume that the newer devices are built with a hardier Flash memory. I think also that it would be a good idea to free up RAM by caching inactive, running programs in ROM. I don't know if the OS would permit this, if it could be done with a 3rd party utility, through a shell, or what.
Don't quote me on the "hardier Flash" point, I am just theorizing here.
