Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but the CAB file shows up as a "Zip" file on my desk top.
The dialogue box that shows up (I got a better look at it) is the file transfer box. So it is moving the CAB file. However, I cannot find it on the PDA. I tried moving it to the CF card to see if that would work, but got the same response.
I don't have a CF reader, so I'll ask one of the other PocketPC folks in the office to try an load it on their PDA and beam it over.
If that fails, I'm off to Dell tech support.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, .cab files show up as zip files on the desktop. Have you tried looking at it with winzip? You should be able to see some files in there. The cab extractor does things to the files, so you can't just unzip them and copy them to the Ax, unfortunately, but at least you can verify that the file has stuff in it.
Also, on the Ax, look at the Remove Programs screen to see if it's been installed and you just didn't notice it.
Don't expect much from Dell support. They will suggest a soft reset followed by a hard reset. I think the Dell technicians and my own company technicians all went to the same school of "don't bother, just reformat" troubleshooting.
I'd try downloading the update again and starting over before I called Dell, personally.
