I believe the best choice is Smart2Go Nationwide Maps & Directions (you will not find this product at their website - www.smart2go.com - but generally it's just the software component of their Mobile Navigator USA bundle). It's affordable ($49.99 at Staples), comes on DVD (so you will need a DVD drive to install it), and VERY easy to install and use. This software will create a plug-and-play SD/MMC card (so you will have to purchase one; USB memory card reader is included with the software for free) which will auto-run the software when inserted into the SD/MMC card slot of your Axim X51V. Works FLAWLESS with generic bluetooth GPS receivers (tested with 2 different brands) without ANY tweaking (will turn on Bluetooth radio by itself and search for available bluetooth GPS receivers by itself, too). Now about the maps size... Say, average map size is about 50 megs for 1 state. The software itself takes about 25 megs of the card's space. Very high street-level details, various views (even perspective view). And one last thing: VERY fast on-the-go route creation. Give it a try!
