If you're worried about the CPU, remember that it's doing the same amount of work at either speed, it's just taking less time while running at 300 MHz. It's not like it's doing more and it's going to wear out faster or anything. It won't hurt it since it's made to run that fast, and even if it did, I'm sure the CPU is going to outlast most of the other parts, like the RAM and the screen -- but, even then, since nothing moves, nothing's going to wear out that quickly. I'm sure you could probably run an Axim for 15-20 years if you took care of it and replaced the battery once in awhile.
