Actually ... 4 times is a bit misleading. While 640x480 is technically 4 times the number of pixels, saying it has 4-times the resolution is not quite true. It would be more accurate to say the device has twice the resolution - because it has twice the data-presentation capability (dots) in each dimension. Your screen objects (if rendered with the same bit-map resolution) will appear half the size on the 'V' as they will on the QVGA. Yes, you can fit 4 QVGA screens into VGA field but - as I pointed out above, that doesn't make it 4 times the resolution.
