WM2003 stores information in RAM. RAM needs power to keep the information.

WM5 only uses RAM as a PC does, for running programs.
Everything else is stored in a non-volatile memory

WM2003 would use the RAM (also giving you very little space for storage) which would erase when the power is gone.
