Basiclly I had the same issue as

When I would do a soft reset, nice start would work. When I would turn off my x50v and turn it on, the default password would come up.
When I was having issues, Trancreative (makers of Nice Start) had a support forumn. I along with some other people (with we2003se devices) were asking for help.
From what I understand, Nice Start resides in a specific area of memory. If too many apps are running, the default password will only work, not Nice Start.

BTW - there is another theory the WA2 causes Nice Start not to work properly, although I still had problems with WA2 turned off...
