ok, so it's nothing to do with your cable connection then.

Since you're just opening the file over the network, you're at the mercy of the encoding of the file and the network.

If I understand what you're saying, the relevant information is that the PC that holds the file is wired to the router but the Axim is wireless and is connecting to the PC over Wifi using Resco.

You need to find out what the bitrate and resolution of the video is and consider re-encoding it.

Or look at a proper video streaming application like Windows Media Encoder or VLC. These apps will allow you to re-encode the video on the fly to make it PDA friendly.
