This is about PIM (Email, Contacts, Calendar), what synchronize file has to do with it?

This a step closer to push mail, calendar, contact from an Exchange server directly to your Mobile device without the need for Outlook on your PC...(a la Blackberry)

Just try to synchronize Activesync with an Exchange server 2003SE (in addition to your ActiveSync/Outlook), you will see all the pieces of puzzle that Microsoft WM5 is trying to provide will start making sense..
