Resolve two files, all the time

The following two files show up repeatedly as unresolved items when I sync my X50V (using ActiveSync 3.7.1):
9-SearchMRU.bin
settings.txt
Both files live on my computer in C:\Documents and Settings\[My Name]\My Documents\Axim My Documents\WebIS
On the Axim they live in My Device\My Documents\WebIS
I don't know which way to resolve them: Axim>Desktop or Desktop>Axim. What are these files and what do they do? And why do they keep showing up as unresolved?
Thanks!

Sounds like you have a couple programs on your PPC that change frequently or are in use.

You could save these to another folder, then delete them. Reboot your system, taking the Axim out. Once your computer is all rebooted and all applications loaded (no hard drive activity), insert your Axim and see if the issue resolves.

If you get program errors on anthting, you can copy them two files back over.

Just a suggestion. WOuld be what I would do in a similar situation.

usually a file with MRU in it is Most Recently Used list from something like your browser or maybe word or excel. you could probably. resolve it in either direction without worrying about it. the settings.txt is a txt file so you can open it and see what it is from. Xelkos' idea is also how I would try to resolve it if I couldn't figure it out. I would stress BACKUPS,BACKUPS,BACKUPS! before you delete anything though.

Okay, thanks guys. The settings.txt seems to be the settings for Pocket Informant. Since I would only change those on the Axim, I resolved that as Axim>Computer. I assume that MRU means "most recently used" on the Axim, and resolved that as Axim>Computer, too.

I back up to BIS and an SD card twice a week or before I install software on the Axim. I do an ActiveSync incremental backup once a month. My Documents on my computer (including Axim My Documents) gets backed up on the fly by Memeo, then written to DVD once a month. As soon as I get an external hard drive the Memeo backups will go there immediately. Am I leaving any big holes? Thanks.

seems like you have it well covered to me. Lots of folks still aren't doing ANY backups so you are a few lightyears ahead of most!!

How are you identifying which specific files are unresoloved? I have an unresolved item in the Inbox that I cannot seem to identify through the available menus.

Thanks
