Question Anyone else ever have this ActiveSync problem ?

I have a very strange Active Sync issue.

My PPC has PPC2002, and I use Windows XP.

I have Active Sync 3.8.0, and have used it since it was released.

It has worked fine for a while.

Then at some point during the past few months, all of the files within my ActiveSync \My Documents "subfolders" were being deleted from the "Desktop only", but remain on my PPC. The actual "subfolders" are not being deleted from the Desktop, just the files within the "subfolders" are being deleted.

All of the files under the main ActiveSync folder \My Documents are fine, and are not being deleted from either platform.

Only the "subfolders" under \My Documents are being affected by this problem.

A sample subfolder with this issue is \My Documents\Channels.

I am not purposely trying to delete any of these files from either platform. It is just happening on its own whenever Active Sync runs.

After the files have been deleted from the subfolders of my Desktop only, ActiveSync then considers my PPC and Desktop PC "in sync", which is obviously incorrect, since the files now exist on my PPC, but not my Desktop PC.

If I add a new subfolder within \My Documents, the new subfolder will work correctly for a few weeks, and ActiveSync will keep the files within this subfolder on both platforms, but eventually the new subfolder will then start having the same issue, and the files eventually get deleted from the "Desktop only" for the newly added subfolder.

Has anybody else ever encountered this ActiveSync issue ?
