Scheduling problem

Would like to change the synching schedule but it won't let me. I can see the scheduler on the Activesynch (4.0) heading and in tools, but it is not highlighted. Same on the device. Any hints?

I was only able to change it when the Axim was plugged into the cradle and the ActiveSync showed "connected" and was done sync'ing.
