Lost my partnerships

I made a mistake and deleted my partnerships from my desktop. One partnership wasn't working, the other worked only part-time.

I thought activesync would create a new partnership to connect the desktop with my Axim, activesync has not created a new partnership.

So far, I've connected the PPC to my desktop by placing the PPC in it's cradle. After a few seconds, the green circle starts spinning, then it stops and displays NO PARTNERSHIPS.

I've also deleted and reinstalled Activesync 3.7, deleted that and installed 4.1. Now, I've deleted 4.1 and reinstalled 3.7.

I guess without a partnership, there can be no communications between the desktop and PPC. Can someone give my some advice on how to create a new partnership or fix my problem?

Thanks,
jerry

you should be able to get it to create a new partnership by starting AS with the pda not connected then under >file>get connected (may be under Connections Settings>Connect)hit the button and then connect your pda. it should ask you if you want to setup a partnership i think.

Axim doesn't stay connected...

Big Dave,
Thanks for your earlier response to my problem. Sorry, your solution didn't fix my problem.

From trying all kinds of solutions, I think the problem is that the PPC doesn't stay connected to the desktop long enough to exchange information.

When I connect the PPC to it's cradle, the "Connect to" will light up on the PPC and the green circle will rotate on the Active Sync screen, after a few seconds, the connect to sign will disappear and sync stops.

So, does anyone have suggestions of how to fix the PPC so that it stays connected long enough to create the partnerships and exchange information.

Thanks to all.
jerry

Hi Jerry777,

Did you ever get your axim to connect to your PC. Mine does the same thing yours does. What a pain...hu. Green ball spins, ppc connects for a few second as a guest and then it disconnects. If you have found a solution any help would be great

Thanks :approve:

I'm having a similar problem. Just received a new X51V. Installed Activesync and I'm unable to get an initial sync. It searches for my device on COM and USB ports but can't find it. I'm using a USB 2.0 port on a Vaio laptop. I've already tried all the Help menu suggestion. Anyone else have any input?

2 possible solutions for you !!!

one:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...t.mspx#desktop

concering firewall port allowing ...

~~~~~
#2 :
go into your "control panel" .... "system" ...and under your "hardware" ..."device manager tab" ....check your USB controllers ... you "MUST" have an instance of "USB 2.0 ENHANCE drivers" ... ENHANCE USB driver is a must in order for WM5 & ActiceSync.
if you don't see an instance of "ENHANCE" anywhere within the USB controllers group ... find out your motherboard name and go to the manufacture homepage and get the "USB 2.0 enhance" driver !
Hope this will fix your problem ... I too had suffered for awhile & after some reading, found it out the HARD way
The problem was with Activesync 4.0 which came with the unit. I downloaded and installed 4.1 and it worked fine after that.
