Outlook & Security--the good news and bad news

Okay, I'm the guy who tried to input Outlook data on my desktop, sync it to the AXIM, then delete it from the desktop. Figuring I could sync it back to the desktop then put in additions when necessary and sync it back to the AXIM.

At last report, the EMPTY Outlook synched to the AXIM and wiped everything out.

The good news: Outlook has a deleted file which I could restore and I was able to get all my work back and synch it to the AXIM again.

The bad news.....maybe this was sort of obvious, but when you delete from Outlook, it saves it........So if you want something totally deleted, you have to totally delete it. Otherwise, someone else can get to it anyhow. I guess this is basic to most Office programs........so I'm back where I started, but at least I have my data back.

There is a new software-flash drive, U3-based, that allows one to run Outlook completely from a removable flash drive. That might be a good solution for security conscious folks.......nothing important, sales contacts, etc. has to stay on a network-connected desktop............

Thanks to all who offered advice.........b99
