hey all, 1st post. sorry if i didn't search right.....
i'm used to remote desktop to run my outlook on my home pc when on the road. w/ a dell 50v (for what that's worth) how could i synch it to my outlook over the net, so i would have the ability to add stuf whenever to my handheld on the road, and maintain my outlook so via remotedesktop, all was uptodate? sorry for the run-on, let me know if that makes sense... thanks all, great site

See if the Remote sync section of the WiFi Guide has what you need.

Ike, the VPN port you mentioned in your guide is wrong... It is TCP 1723, and not 1789. I have been doing a lot of reading and experimenting with VPNs; with a Linksys WRT54G there is open-source firmware that turns the router itself into an easily configurable and highly dependable PPTP VPN server.

Is there any known way to remote sync with Activesync 4 without having exchange?
Also @Roner - do you have a link for the website for the firmware for the WRT54G? I did a quick search and it seems there are quite a few versions and variations, so if anyone could direct me to where i could get a overview that would be much appreciated. I currently have a WRT54GS (S for sucker - 30% faster my ass) and it would be great if i could turn it into a VPN endpoint. Thanks

TwoJ,
1. I don't know of any way to do network sync between WM5 and AS4. That's why I did not upgrade to WM5. If you learn anything, let me know. 2. The best (and free!) firmware is at http://www.dd-wrt.org/. Enjoy!
