I get the same problem on an iPAQ with WM 5 and Outlook 2003. My take on it is that ActiveSync 4.0 only allows connection to COM1 and COM2, while the Bluetooth wants to use (in my case) COM3 & COM4. It's as if Active Sync only allows the dedicated serial ports on the computer!

I had the same type problem and thought I had it licked several times but no luck. I even upgraded to Outlook 2003. Then today for the heck of it I reinstalled active sync and viloa everything worked, no more 85010014.. My PDA is finally a tool.

Well I have tried everything about 10 times, except downgrading. Nothing worked. I no longer have to sync anything because resetting Outlook lost all of my information. I really hate to have to go back to WM2003, but if I want to sync, I guess I have to.

Thank you. I did this, finally saw an address on my Pocket PC. I just upgraded to 5.0 an hour ago, this was plaguing me. Thank you.
