ActiveSync window not showing on desktop

After upgrading to WM5.0 and AS4.1 on my Axim X50v, the ActiveSync window no longer shows up on my desktop. The only thing I can see is the Green circle/arrow icon and the Microsoft ActiveSync name in the taskbar. If I click on the Microsoft ActiveSync name, it makes the sound of a program window being minimized. If I click on it a second time, it sounds like a program window being maximized but nothing is shown on the desktop. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Running WindowsXP on a Dell Dimension 4400.

Read the thread: "ActiveSync 3.7 won't open." Try deleting (renaming is safer) the three specified files in your C:\Windows\System32 folder.
