I'm using WinXP SP2 Pro / Office 2003 on a Dell 700M. NO firewall (windows firewall service disabled), anti-virus, crazy VPN (just regular home setup) or USB hub. I just wiped my whole system and installed a new copy of WinXP. I installed AS 4.1 (I've also tried 4.0) and then installed the Axim but nothing happens. The axim shows up in the device manager under network devices but it has an exclamation point. When I try and update the device it acts like it found something then says: "An error occured during the installation of this device: The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor." I've searched the hell out this forum and the dell one and it seems everyone has a problem establishing an AS connection but not actually the initial driver installation. Also, if I try and uninstall the device is says, "This device cannot be uninstalled because it may be required to boot up the computer." Any help would be greatly appreciated.
