Support Code: 8503001f
Cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected. Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile.
I am trying to sync Contacts, Tasks and Calendar with Outlook 2003 with my X51V using ActiveSync 4.1.
I have a separate profile setup just for the Axim because I have several email addresses.
I have searched the forums and found some references to outlook2003 syncing, etc. but I was unable to come up with a solution.
Any help would be appreciated and sorry if I was unable to find the solution if it is in fact somewhere else on the forum. Thanks.

Success...sort of
I did "Delete Mobile Device" and now the tasks and appointments synced with Outlook2003, but the Contacts did not. I know some people are having some contacts sync and others not, but I am not getting any of the Contacts from my PDA onto my PC. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem with that error code and what I did was delete the device and have activesync re-detect it. I also had a problem where it wouldn't sync my contacts, email, etc. and that cured that problem as well.
Hopefully this may benefit someone else.
[EDIT]: Running Activesync 4.1, X51v (WM5)

Unbelievable! It worked!
I've been struggling with this error message for several days, but just found this note on the forum and, sure enough, it solved the problem. As soon as I deleted the device and reconnected, ActiveSync set it back up and all synced perfectly.
Might want to mention that the option to Delete the Device is under the File menu in ActiveSync.
Thanks so much!

Another happy camper. This fixed my problem also and now everything syncs fine. If you try this don't be discouraged as it took a couple of soft resets to get it all working. BE SURE YOU DO A BACKUP FIRST! just in case it deletes all of your data.

Many thanks for adding this...that in conjunction with the original advice contained in this thread were a lifesaver
Thanks to Google for leading me here lol
So I take it the Axim is some kinda Dell PDA?
I didn't even know Dell had a PDA
This worked for my Verizon LGVX6700 PDA/phone combo running Windows Mobile 5.0, that's all I know. I have a couple Dell Desktops though including the one running XP SP2 I was synching it with.
Thanks again!
Joel

worked for me, too
After about nine hours...really...just trying to move my stuff from a cracked screen axim to a replacement one (which dell delivered to me within 18 hours of my phone call!---the "everything" warranty is worth it)---I posted about this same problem to this site on two different forums and for some reason, there were several other postings about this problem.
Deleting and reinstalling worked fine...although it cost me an extra two hours because I didn't delete EVERYTHING......but when I did........it was like a huge rock lifted off my head..........it fixed it in a matter of seconds!

I am with ActivSync 4.1 but I have the same message 8503001F. My other problem is that by updating outlook (for tsome reasons) I have lost the most updated calendar and contacts ...so the only up-to-date contacts and calendar are on my PocketPC.
when I try to "delete mobile device." I get the message that says that I might lose everything on my PocketPC. So I am scared that I can lose everything. Any idea ? how can I save data on my ppc before I try to delete the device?thanks in advance for your advice.

I too got good info today.
I had the same problem and deleting the device solved the problem. It affectively set up a new profile and the old one is still there but will never be used again, I hope.
Thanks to you all.
