soft reset does not destroys data, hard reset does. Anyway, you can sync with desktop, and you should get the data back upto your last sync. Hope this helps.

have synched with laptop still no data on ppc, active sync says i am synched.

You may be filtering data in Calendar view: just check and turn off any filters.

Also worth checking is that the Axim is set up to sync data for Calendar in Activesync.
