X51/active sync/PC Quicken problems

I've been in this for what seems days. I have a new X51 which, out o the box, was anything but trouble free.

a lot of it seemed to come from trying to install PC Quicken. So, back and forth with Landware (seller), and upgrade to WM5, s/w installed, removed, re-installed, code 85010014 appears, disappears, re-appears.

The Pocket Quicken works great and seems to be almost bullet proof, BUT I cannot sync with Outlook very well. "Notes" will sync, "files" will sync (forget about using Excel), but "calendar", "contacts", and "tasks" will not sync.

Yesterday I removed Outlook and active sync and then re-installed.
I had **one** connection where everything synced correctly and then not again.

I'm back to getting 85010014 and kind of at the end of my rope. I've seen a note about thoroughly uninstalling active sync and then downloading and install 3.8.

any thoughts?

The only problem is that WM5 does not work with anything less than Activesync 4.0.

I'll respond to my own message. I got online with Dell support people (like a chat room) and by god, I think I've got the problem mentioned above fixed. It has to do with the same s/w but removing and re-installing etc.

I'd be happy to share it with anyone.

This really works. .pretty straightforward. .if you follow it exactly

Donald Wilhelm: "I get the Support Code (in Active Sync) 85010014. .apparently not uncommon"
Agent (Kunal_01113235): "Okay."
Agent (Kunal_01113235): "Please follow under mentioned steps to resolve the issue.

1) Remove Axim from cradle
2) Remove Activesync
3) Run a repair/detect on Outlook (found in the Help menu)
4) reboot workstation
5) Hard Reset Axim (may not be necessary, but I did it anyway"

"The issue will be resolved after performing the steps."

a little clarification on my "instructions" for fixing the 85010014.

after rebooting the workstation, of course re-install Activesync and then do the "hard reset" (see you manual)
