ActiveSync on desktop stays in 'Connecting...' mode

When I connect my PDA with my PC, the icon in the system tray stays in the 'Connecting...' status indefinitely, while my PDA shows that it is connected.

How do I fix this problem?

I am running Windows 2000.

Thanks in advance!

It could be that your Device is not being detected.

Try altering the USB to PC settings.

You can find these under settings ->connections

uncheck the box saying: use advanced network....

A soft reset and/or a PC reboot usually fixes this problem. However, check that you haven't updated your firewall and inadvertently stopped communication with your pda. You should also check the usual suspects such as loose connections, etc.
