Will X50 sync with HP notebooks OK?

Is anyone out there using a HP notebook and a X50 together? What version of ActiveSync are you using? I have a HP notebook that won't connect a 'Partnership' with my X50. I just need to confirm if it's a problem at my end or do all HP notebooks and Dell PDA combinations have this problem. i.e. Conflict between the manufactures. Thanks Darren

Ohh, Antivirus software. For a minute there I thought you meant Audio/Visual software.

I've got a hp pavilion ZD7000 with XP Media Center 2004 OS and I sync my X50v with activesync 3.8. The Ax runs on WM2003SE.

I have successfully used my Axim with ActiveSync 3.8 with all 3 of the HP laptops I have used. Not a single issue with any of them. All 3 of the machines are Windows XP Pro boxes.

Certainly not a "brand" issue.
Have setup ActiveSync numerous times, mucho equipment, and never had to shut down Norton AV, adware programs and/or shut down the
firewall.

All run XP Pro OS, two Ax's are both WM 2003SE. :approve:

Seems like a long night? Never, ever, had to do all that
"stuff." ActiveSync 3.8 runs quite well with WM 2003SE.

Sure it MAY work with some configurations, but this will ensure very little heartache related to ActiveSync. On my HP laptop I had no problems, but on my Dell work laptop, I had to do as described above. Uninstalling AV and disabling firewall really only take about 15 minutes...maybe.

Just tried all of the above. Still nothing!! Even when I select 'File' -> 'Connect Settings' -> 'Connect' -> 'Next' it trys the IR and USB and comes back saying 'Your device was not detected'. However the XP 'Wireless Link' detects the X50 and allows me to transfer files to the X50! Go figure.
