why 2 device names in Active Sync?
I have Windows Mobile 5, and I had to upgrade active sync.
One thing I noticed. Before I upgraded, my device name was "rj", but after I upgraded to WM 5, it was reset to WM_Admin. However, in activesync, I see both RJ and WM_Admin as profiles. Is it ok for me to delete one of these profiles? It gave me a scary warning message. I have to wonder, when I click yes, will I be deleting both profiles or only one? (In other words, would changing the device name on my Axim x50V back to rj solve the problem? rj

When you upgraded your PPC to WM5, it did a clean image of the ROM.
So, it didn't transfer the device name. It generated a Device ID based on your sync with your desktop. You can set the name in Start | Settings | System | About | Device ID You can delete the one you're not using (or both and rename your device). It will then (if you sync files) ask if you want to delete the files that were synced. You must delete them while the device is not connected. Edit: You're fine deleting a profile. It will create it again if needed when you connect a device.
