Installing Applications without Syncing
I ran into a pickel today. I needed to install Adobe Acrobat on my PDA today but didnt have a sync cable, nor wanted to sync with the computer i was on. I couldnt find a .cab of the program i wanted to install either.
I installed activesync 3.8 on the computer, and downloaded the install for acrobat for pocket pc. I then ran that install, it went through its thing and told me that it would be installed next time that i synced. I then did a search for .cab files and found a oddly named .cab file in c:\Program Files\Mircosoft ActiveSync\Adobe.
I think that other programs just throw those .cab files in there and wait for a sync. If you have a install, and dont want to sync just find the .cab file.
then either transfer via e-mail, or wireless, or whatever means and click it to install it. It worked beautifully!
Hope this helps
