Synchronisation cannot be completed sucessfully
Hi,
after three weeks of axim x51 ownership with ongoing moderate problems on activesync I have now lost the ability to sync. This is the message I get. "Synchronisation cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft Activesync troubleshooter in Microsoft Activesync help on your desktop computer" The PC sees the device, knows that it is password protected and requires password input. So some part of the process is working ok. My last successful sync was on Saturday after I upgraded to A04 in the hope of resolving battery drain problems and white screen problems. I am running activesync 4.1 and the activesync troubleshooter has not helped. I have done soft resets, reinstall activesync etc. At this stage I am totally frustrated. I think it is time to send it back but before I do that just want to check if anyone else had this problem and how was it resolved. The level of performance and reliability that I have experienced, and based on my views of this and other websites, that many others have experienced is far below acceptable. Any inputs, please. Thanks Jim

Yes I am also having trouble with Activesync. My solutions is unplug the usb and replug as many times as possible until it's ok. 90% chance it's work. But sometimes I have to restart my PC.

I have problems with activesync 3.8. it will say connected, but the system tray icon is still gray. It really isn't connected. SOLUTION: Switch to a user on the xp computer where activesync has a green icon. The users it works on and the users it doesn't it always random.

After I posted my help request I remembered Chris de Herrera's website www.pocketpcfaq.com. His advice to go into activsync options and uncheck all the applications, adding them back in one by one so as to isolate the offending application.
What happened was that I got pushed into an activesync setup screen which showed that I had two connections set up with the same name and details. When I deleted one of the connections the problem was sorted. I can now sync. I don't know how two connections got set up. Thank to everyone who responded. Jim

Synchronisation cannot be completed... error message
There is a comfort in knowing I am not alone on this...
Using Axim51V Mobile 5 and ActiveSync 4.5 Superb performance until recently, lost the ability to sync- either by Bluetooth or cradle. Deleted partnerships on laptop, switched off bluetooth and deleted bluetooth sync I had set up. I went into program files/active sync and made sure there was nothing left in profiles. Uninstalled, ran cleaner on laptop and reinstalled AS4.5. Still error message. Deleted partnership again and re-named Axim. Still same problem. Moved docking station to another PC and still the same problem so I assume it is something within the Axim that has become corrupted or jammed. Each time it prompts for passcode, then I get error message, and am logged in as guest. I can see the device and explore it- it just will not sync, and as I am a guest I have no option to change sync settings! Any other experiences/solutions? MGTIA Krowdrah
