Just received my X51v today and charged for about 5 hours (can't wait for 8).

here's what I did:
1) install ActiveSync
2) reboot
3) plug in usb dock
4) turn on Axim
5) place into dock
6) it is recognized ..
7) ActiveSync now says "Retrieving settings..."
and after a while, my Axim turns off by itself (no light)

I'm still waiting as I type...
how long do I continue to wait?

also, should I upgrade to Rom A04? (currently A01)
do I have to do anything special for that?

edit: and I'm using USB 1.1 if that matters

ok I updated to A04 while it said "retrieving settings.." and it worked fine.

I disabled firewalls and restarted a bunch.

I think it may be having trouble because I don't have Outlook installed

Never imagined everyone's problems would be so hard to deal with.. I'll deal with Outlook tomorrow

ok I finally figured it out.
I installed Outlook 2002... didn't help
searched some more :) ..
exited Sygate completely and it worked!

I even followed Microsoft's guide for Sygate and it didn't work until I closed it completely.

Happily playing Sudoku :)
