Activesync-Problem...

Hey all.

I just got my Axim X51v Yesterday and I've got a lot of fun with it.

BUT, I'm not able to synchronize it with my computer. Copying files on it is no problem, thus the connection should be ok. However, when I try to synchronize, it says "looking for changes".... and then, after a couple of minutes, there is this error-message which basically says that it is no possible to do it and that I have to reconnect the x51v with the computer (sorry, don't know the exact words since the message is in german).
Btw, I've downloaded the last version of activesync from microsoft, but i have still the same problem.

Does anybody know how to solve that? Should I upgrade to A04 (since my Axim is running on A00)?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my terrible english (I'm a swiss guy :-))

Welcome to Aximsite,

Remove the Axim from the cradle. On your PC start ActiveSync go to Files -> Delete Partnerships and delete all existing. Put the Axim in the cradle. Let it sync. What version of ActiveSync are you using?

BTW your English is good

Hhmm, nope, still doesn't work.

I use activesync 4.1.0 since it didn't work with the older version that was on the dell-cd(4.0.0 I think).

maybe it is a problem with my outlook on the computer?

One thing that I found in order to pinpoint the problem was to uncheck all sync options (in active sync window - tools, options). And then one by one add the calendar then sync. Add the contacts then sync, etc. There could be a conflict with one of the options. Mine was with favorites. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to sync, especially when in a hurry.

Question

damn I have almost the same problem... it keeps saying " Syncronizing " and the green wheel keeps spinning... but doesn't go any further!

I've deleted the relationships, re-established it and only syncing the contacts, everything else is un-checked!

I'm also on ROM A01..

It connects fine, but doesn't sync! aagh

Had the same problem

I had this issue when I tried to sync at work. It seems this is an issue with WM5 and firewall settings. At my workplace they run Sygate, but I think there is a problem with other firewall apps as well. As near as I can figure, WM5 uses tcp/ip functionality when using the USB port to sync with the cradle. This is different than ActiveSync 3.8. The microsoft bone heads really created a ball buster this time. Certain firewalls do not take favorable to this process. Microsoft has an item in the knowledge base and if you peruse through aximsite you will find this topic covered already.

MS site is: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...c/default.mspx

I personally never implemented the suggested fixes, but rather switched to syncing using infrared which is not affected by this issue. I heard bluetooth syncing is also not affected.

Hope this helps.

How are you supposed to end the Activesync session? There was a button on my PPC in the old versions of the software. Can't find one in WM5.
