Question Why can't we ping through WIFI when docked in active sync??

Help me...Please! I have just received a Dell Axim X51v (WM5). Being a developer of a wireless handheld app, I am seeing a problem here. I have an applictaion that gets deployed through activesync for debugging on the handheld. The application uses a WIFI connection to control remote hardware which has worked in the past with HP iPAQ Pocket PC 2003.

With the new Dell, WIFI works and I can ping the address of my hardware BUT, when I dock into the cradle, I can no longer ping. If I then remove the device from the cradle, I can suddenly ping again. Dell does not know what the issue is here. There must be a solution here somewhere. I also notice that in the Dell ping utility the devices IP address disappears while docked and then reappears when removed from the cradle.

Is this Dell, WM5 or my set up?

I noticed this problem too with my x50. Apparently, they want you to use the pc internet. If the pc isn't hooked up to the internet, than it won't work when its un the cradle. The only solution i've got is to hook the pc up to the wifi.
