ActiveSync disappeared

Hi:

Im new to all this so I hope someone can help me. My activesync 4.0 said it had incounterd a problem and had to close. Once it did, it was gone from my menu bar at the bottom of my PC. I went to start >programs and clicked on Activesync and nothing happens. I have an Axim 51v. What do I do?

If you are using 2000 or xp press ctrl alt del. Go to processes. Find the activesync exe. Click end process. Select ok on the disclaimer. If that doesn't work, try a restart.

Thanks, the restart worked. Does anyone know why this happens?
