activesync won't connect
downloaded activesync 4.1...when axim X51v (two days old) placed into cradle...computer pings and pongs...task bar say 'new hardware axim X51v'...and nothing else happens...
i open activesync and it says 'no connection'...and it will not connect after trying all sorts of things with dell support in 8 hours...they suggest it is a cradle/wire problem...if it was, then the computer would not respond when i put axim into cradle... is problem pda or activeync? | |||

yes...i have turned off all firewalls i can locate...
the computer does make a sound when i place my pda in cradle...that is why i doubt it is a cradle problem... most of the items on activesync are greyed out...so i cannont make any adjustments to activesync i had toshiba...and ipac 2215...never had problem with activesync... i have had no problem with X51v wireless connection where-ever i am... if it would sync with my conputer, this would be an incredible pda... | |||

Have you tried Connection Setting< Get Connected? ONly plugin your cable after you hit the next button.

One thing that I found in order to pinpoint the problem was to uncheck all sync options (in active sync window - tools, options). And then one by one add the calendar then sync. Add the contacts then sync, etc. There could be a conflict with one of the options. Mine was with favorites. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to sync, especially when in a hurry.

me too having the exact same problem... The AS green icon keep rotating but no response from PPC end....

I had this problem too, a couple of times. Here is what I did and its worked so far. I uninstalled Activesync. rebooted computer, downloaded activesync 4.1 again and docked the axim. Ive had to so this a couple of times, its a pain but it workes. Talked to Dell about this and they said they are working on a fix with activesync.
