Fixed the 8501004 problem...

I have had the 8501004 problem in WM 5 with AutoSync 4.0 - driving me crazy! In searching around the web I found the following and tried it (deleting all "current devices"), and all of a sudden AutoSync worked:

Quote:
"I had the exact same problem after I upgraded from 2003SE to Mobile 5 and AS 4.0.

I read somewhere the hint from an MSFT that asked someone to delete the 'current' device from AS (file->delete Mobile device). Now, AS allows you to have up to 2 devices associated directly to it. It turned out that, with me, after the upgrade from 3.8 to 4.0 the old associations had been saved, but also a third one was added because AS 4.0 thought it had to do with a new device. When I deleted 1 Mobile device association, suddenly I saw the two older assocs. I deleted them all, reconnected my IPaq, created a new AS4 association.... presto... It worked again.

Definitely something to try, because AS will not show any other assoc over the 2 allowed thru file->Mobile Device. Oh, and yeah; it'll remove the current settings you have... but then again; it didn't work in the first place.."
From my google search it seems that there can be several reasons for this error; most of them seem to relate to Exchange Server. The above worked for me...

Mad

Well - so much for that! It lasted 24 hours, and then the problem re-appeared this morning - with no reboots in between.
