Changing PC: How to re-sync?

I am using X50v + ActiveSync 3.7.1.

I am going to change a new Dell PC. What is the correct way of installation and the procedure to sync my PDA >> PC? I am worry that some data might get lost if the PC overwrites the PDA.

Please help and thanks.
