This solved my problem, i spent an hour fooling around with the firewall settings when all i needed to do was check those boxes.

My problem is different, in my XP machine it works fine, but my Win2K machine, it never shows up in LAN connections, but it does show up in device manager as a network device (with no errors).

I have a question about Active Sync 4.1. I am a new user with a X51v. This is my first PDA, prior to this I had some experience with my bosses HP. His HP was using an earlier version of Active Sync. I want to be able to select which way I want information to flow between the computer and the PDA during the sync. On the earlier version I could tell it to let the computer calendar go to the PDA but not bring the PDA Calendar onto the computer. I have not been able to find this feature on the new version of Active Sync. Will it do it? Does anybody know?

Is there a way to select a different calendar to sync on a computer if you run more than one?

AS 3.8 does not work with WM5.

I still cannot syn my Axim51v to my Dell inspiron 1505 (OS Xp Media Center 2005). Before I can do it well with my other Dell laptop (OS XP HOME).

Here is what I found:
1/In 'my computer', it shows the 'moblie device'. While explore it, it is empty;
2/In 'Network connection', the adapter is working well, showing 'sent' and 'receive' as normal as the other LAN connection.

The problem is the laptop popup AS main window says 'connecting' and never go through.

I did try all the hints here but never work.
