X51v works out of box with AS 4.0 (from installation CD). Than I upgrade to 4.1 and it stops working. AS just can't see the x51v on cradle.

Remove 4.1. Clean registry/file. Restart PC. Downgrade to 4.0. Power on X51V. Put it on cradle. Yet it doesn't work. Have tried 3 times, no, it doesn't work.

I'm sure the hardware is OK since i can see that new LAN connection when I put x51v on cradle.

Yes, I've turned off windows firewall.

Yes, sync over IR works.

So, any idea?

Did you see my post (and solution)? I had the same problem. Do a search for either "ActiveSync problem and FIX" or my username. Let me know if this solves your problem.

I have an X5 and have just upgraded to an X51v. Installed AS 4.1 and made sure it worked with X5 before trying the X51v. I've tried all the workarounds posted (for norton firewall) and AS simply will not sync with the X51v. Anyone out there who has norton firewall and got the X51v to sync? If so, how?

Help!!! I am new to axim and never visited a chat room before, but I am desperate!!! Why won't my AximX51v connect??? I have also done all the things that you describe

I managed to get a sync last night by 1) disabling norton internet security 2) put the Axim in the cradle then go to the Device Manager (in Control Panel:System under the hardware tab) go to the network adapters and delete the Axim related one listed. Windows reinstalled the adapter but this time it started to sync automatically.

Now if I could get Norton to work with activesync I would be golden (tried making all the relevant ports open and installing all the programs in the firewall).

i uninstall AS, clean registry, remove direcotries (in Program Files), reinstall and viola!

sometime what you need is just some luck, i guess.
