Back Up/Restore on ActiveSync 4.1?

I keep reading on various sites that ActiveSync can be used for PPC back-up and restore. The funny thing is that I cannot find any reference to backup and restore on ActiveSync 4.1. Doesn't seem to be on any of the menus... I've compared screen-shots from the PC, and it's just not there.

Am I missing something, or was this important feature taken out of ActiveSync?

You are correct. Microsoft removed the backup/restore functionality from ActiveSync 4.x.
