Axim keeps trying to connect

I'm not sure if this is the forum to post my problem, but here it goes. I can connect to my home PC with no problem and even at work, I can connect through a Guest Partnership and transfer files to my x50v. Problem is when I am not connected, my Axim keeps trying to find a connection and a box comes up CONSTANTLY telling me to try to connect. This is driving me crazy! At work I have a second charger so that I can keep my Axim charged up and ready to go but it keeps looking for a connection unless I have it connected as a Guest to my work PC. Is there anyway to make it stop looking for a connection constantly?

I guess after reading others trouble in connecting in the first place, I should be happy that I'm having this problem! Thanks for any help you can give!
