Alternative for Activesync?

Are there any alternatives for activesync, or plugins for activesync that allow you more flexibility in what files/dirs etc you want to sync with your PC? Or am I dreaming?

Try a search for MobSync. I use it for syncing my podcast. It's a good free program.

I just started using MightySync which is an add-on for $6. It works though the interface is confusing.

Is there not some direct replacement for ActivSnc? Surely somebody competes with MicroSoft?

MobSync seems to be a plugin for activesync which seems to be doing quite well for me so far.. It's not perfect but close enough. You definately can't lose activesync by using this.

Intellisync is for Palm OS if I remember correctly.

I think Pocket Controller Professional might provide some similar functionality but I have yet to check out this program.

Well, this is just well and truely awfull! Nobody directly completes with Bill? I realize that the handheld market is small, but this is nuts.

I'm off to do more research elsewhere. If I find something, I'll report back.

I don't think you're going to find anything to replace activesync. If there was something out there, I think everyone would be using it by now. Activesync just flat out sucks. I've been using Mightysync for a couple years now and like it alot. It's just for syncing files though, not Outlook data.

Same happen to me when I originally got my X5 broken with no reason just after a couple months of purchase date. Dell sent me a REFURBISHED replace unit. After 3 days complanning and whinning nothing changed. I just got stuck with the refurbished unit for $395 originally paid. I can tell for sure Dell support really sucks. Wont personally buy any device from them again. Even do, my X5 is just great. Great device with the worst customer support.
