why does AS4.1/WM5 want an exchange server password?

I'm trying to get my x50v with WM5 to sync like it used to with 2003SE, which means that I have Outlook open on my desktop and it syncs my calendar/contact/tasks/notes.

When I try to sync, my PDA keeps asking me to "please correct your Exchange Server password." and has "DEFAULT\DEFAULT" listed as my domain\user name.

I've configured AS to only sync my "favorites" and have removed all the items that would come from exchange "calendar/contacts/tasks/notes" and still get the error. I had previously set up an exchange server link on the ASdesktop by using "add server source..." but have deleted it.

The reason I deleted it is because I've not got double entries in both my Exchange Server & PDA and I'm afraid of that growing...

1) can I sync "contacts/calendar/tasks/notes" without adding the "server source?"
2) why is it asking for this information if I'm not going to Exchange for data?

Very confused. I've gotten all the other x50v/WM5 issues out of the way.

I'm not sure if yours would work the same, but I just recently had the same problem. I have the x51v and when I recently installed AO6, I had to set up new connections both at home and at work. When the menu first came up at work for adding a new connection, I had accidentally checked the box asking if I wanted to synchronize with the exchange server. I went back and unchecked that and it was okay after that. Like I said, I'm not sure if you are talking about the same thing or not, but thought I'd try to help. :)
